Communication, Media, and Performance Dance Production Technician

Light Board operator is responsible for

• Running the light board for all tech rehearsals and performances.
• Ability to do basic light design.
• Being familiar with the show.
• Must be able to work with Choreographers.
• Must be able to communicate with the dancers.
• Must be able to communicate with the show director.
• Must be able to remain calm under pressure.
• Must be able to troubleshoot with the lights during performances and rehearsals.
• Must be able to take charge of tech rehearsal.
• Reliability, promptness and efficiency are essential.

Sound Board operator is responsible for

• Running the sound board for all tech rehearsals and performances
• Being familiar with the show.
• Must be able to work with Choreographers.
• Must be able to communicate with the dancers.
• Must be able to communicate with the show director.
• Must be able to remain calm under pressure.
• Must be able to troubleshoot with the sound during performances and rehearsals.
• Must be able to take charge during tech rehearsal.
• Reliability, promptness and efficiency are essential.

Stage Managers are responsible for

• Check and prepare dressing area and performance areas (pre and post show)
• Running the performance
• Calling cues
• Contacting performers and technicians
• Making sure that performers are in place.
• Being familiar with the show.
• Must be able to communicate with Technicians.
• Must be able to work with Choreographers.
• Must be able to communicate with the dancers.
• Must be able to communicate with the show director.
• Must be able to remain calm under pressure.
• Must be able to troubleshoot during performances and rehearsals.
• Must be able to take charge during tech rehearsal.
• Reliability, promptness, efficiency and self motivation are essential.

Assistant Stage Managers are responsible for assisting the Stage Manager in

• Making sure dressing area and performance area are prepared.
• Running the performance
• Calling cues
• Making sure that performers are in place.
• Being familiar with the show.
• Must be able to work with Choreographers.
• Must be able to communicate with the dancers.
• Must be able to communicate with show director.
• Must be able to remain calm under pressure.
• Must be able to trouble shoot during performances and rehearsals.
• Must be able to take charge during tech rehearsal.
• Reliability, promptness, efficiency and self motivation are essential.

Videographer is responsible for

• Recording tech rehearsal and all performances
• Being familiar with the show.
• Must be able to work with Choreographers.
• Must be able to communicate with the show director.
• Must be able to remain calm under pressure.
• Must be able to troubleshoot with the video during performances and rehearsals.
• Reliability, promptness and efficiency are essential.
• Edit Raw footage into show video
• Make DVD and electronically sharable Copies of Performance

Light Board Operator

Experience with light boards necessary. Further training will be required.

Sound Board Operator

• Experience with sound boards necessary. Further training will be required.
• Stage Manager – DMS requires stage managers at least twice during the academic year.
• Experience is preferred
• Assistant Stage Manager – DMS requires stage managers at least twice during the academic year.
• Experience is preferred

Videographer

Experience with Video equipment necessary. Further training may be required.
