Based in Mexico, this individual will be responsible for building the market from the ground up — developing our go-to-market strategy, establishing reseller and distributor partnerships, driving direct sales, supporting pilot installations, and ultimately building a local team to support continued growth.

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and is comfortable moving between strategy and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Market Development & Go-to-Market Strategy
  • Develop and execute Verdant’s market-entry and growth strategy for Latin America.
  • Identify priority markets, customer segments, and opportunities across the region.
  • Build a strong understanding of local market dynamics, competitive landscape, customer needs, and industry trends.
  • Translate market insights into actionable commercial strategies.
  1. Build & Develop the Local Team
  • Help establish Verdant’s local presence in Latin America.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and manage local team members as the business grows.
  • Establish clear goals, processes, and accountability for the regional team.
  • Build a high-performing culture aligned with Verdant’s broader organization.
  1. Reseller & Distributor Partnerships
  • Identify, develop, and manage relationships with potential resellers, distributors, and strategic partners.
  • Evaluate partners based on their market reach, capabilities, customer relationships, and alignment with Verdant.
  • Negotiate and establish partnerships that accelerate market penetration.
  • Train and support partners to effectively position and sell Verdant solutions.
  1. Sales & Pilot Installations
  • Generate and develop new business opportunities throughout Latin America.
  • Build relationships with key customers and decision-makers.
  • Lead the sales process from initial opportunity through closing.
  • Coordinate and support pilot installations to demonstrate Verdant’s solutions and establish reference customers.
  • Convert successful pilots into broader commercial opportunities.
  1. Entrepreneurial Leadership
  • Operate as Verdant’s representative and market leader within Latin America.
  • Take ownership of building the region with a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach.
  • Identify challenges and opportunities and develop practical solutions quickly.
  • Balance short-term commercial opportunities with the long-term development of the market.
  1. Market Insights & Reporting
  • Provide regular updates on market development, sales pipeline, partnerships, competitive activity, and regional opportunities.
  • Track key performance indicators and progress against regional objectives.
  • Share customer and market feedback with internal teams to support product and commercial strategy.
  1. Collaboration with Montreal Headquarters
  • Work closely with Verdant’s Sales, Marketing, Operations, Engineering, and leadership teams in Montreal.
  • Complete an initial training period of approximately two weeks at Verdant’s Montreal headquarters.
  • Travel periodically to Montreal for training, strategic planning, and collaboration.
  • Ensure LATAM activities remain aligned with Verdant’s broader commercial strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field; MBA considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience building a market, business unit, territory, or commercial operation from the ground up.
  • Strong sales and business development experience within Latin America.
  • Experience establishing and managing reseller, distributor, or channel partnerships.
