Director of Portfolio Growth & Marketing
SimpleCITI · Garden City, NY, United States
About The Role
We are a holding company with businesses across multiple financial-services and related industries. Each company has different customers, marketing channels, growth strategies, agencies, and technology needs.
We are looking for a senior marketing and growth operator to oversee marketing execution across the portfolio and serve as the primary point of contact between ownership, portfolio companies, marketing agencies, technology vendors, and internal teams.
This person will not be expected to personally execute every marketing function. Their role is to understand each business, determine the right strategy and resources, manage specialist agencies, hold vendors accountable, and use AI and technology to improve performance and reduce unnecessary manual work.
Responsibilities
- Own marketing execution across the portfolio: Understand each company's business model, customers, acquisition channels, economics, and growth priorities, then translate ownership's direction into clear strategies, briefs, budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
- Manage agencies and vendors: Serve as the primary point of contact for paid media, creative, SEO, content, email/SMS, outbound, websites, CRO, PR, branding, affiliate, and other partners; coordinate vendors, evaluate performance, negotiate scopes and pricing, and replace underperforming partners when necessary.
- Drive performance and accountability: Monitor CAC, CPL, ROAS, LTV, conversion rates, funnel performance, budgets, and deadlines; identify problems and opportunities early and provide concise, decision-ready reporting to ownership.
- Lead AI, automation, and marketing technology initiatives: Identify opportunities to automate workflows, reporting, lead management, campaign analysis, research, creative production, and other processes using AI, CRM systems, integrations, and custom technology.
- Build a scalable marketing operating system: Determine what should be handled internally, automated, or outsourced; coordinate developers and technical vendors when required; standardize processes across portfolio companies while allowing each business to maintain the marketing strategy appropriate for its industry.
4+ years of relevant experience in growth marketing, digital marketing, marketing operations, agency management, marketing technology, or a related field, with experience overseeing multiple companies, clients, brands, or business units.
Strong multi-channel marketing knowledge across paid media, Meta, Google, SEO, email/SMS, CRM, outbound, websites, conversion optimization, analytics, attribution, and customer acquisition economics including CAC, CPL, ROAS, and LTV.
Proven agency and vendor management experience, including managing multiple specialized partners simultaneously, evaluating performance, negotiating scopes and pricing, managing budgets, and holding vendors accountable.
Strong operator and executive communication skills: Highly organized, commercially minded, capable of managing multiple simultaneous initiatives, making routine decisions independently, and turning broad executive direction into actionable plans without requiring constant oversight.
