Senior Technical Officer / Technical Officer (26270125) (Multiple vacancies)

The Academy of Music (https://mus.hkbu.edu.hk/web/) has rapidly emerged as one of the leading institutions in Hong Kong, providing a rigorous music curriculum. The Academy is poised to significantly strengthen its capacity for nurturing the advancement of the creative arts with the completion of the Jockey Club Campus of Creativity, which provides resources for a wide array of creative arts disciplines.

Responsibilities

The appointees are expected to provide administrative/technical/logistic support to the Academy of Music and the Jockey Club Creative Hub. They will be involved in day-to-day office operation, coordination for teaching/ learning and performance activities, production of teaching video/audio, and other duties as assigned by the Technical Manager.

Requirements

  • Education & Languages: Recognised bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with excellent proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese.
  • AV & Video Production: Hands-on experience in filming, photography, video editing, and operating professional audio hardware and software.
  • Technical & IT: Proficient in both Mac and Windows operating systems with proven skills in equipment troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Graphic Design: Basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).
  • Soft Skills: Detail-oriented team player with strong multitasking skills, also the drive to take initiative and work independently.
  • Event-Driven Availability: Requires flexibility to work non-standard hours—including late evenings, weekends, and public holidays—to deliver on-site technical and operational support during concerts, live events, and key projects.
  • Experience: At least 4 years’ relevant work experience, in media production, AV, or event support is preferred.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written and/or practical skills assessment.

Applicants with less relevant work experience may be considered for the post of Technical Officer.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years, commencing as soon as possible. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review and mutual agreement.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
