About The Role

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Production Scheduler to join our Waitane team. This important role is responsible for coordinating sales order requirements and the effective scheduling of our secondary packing plans and packaging purchasing. Working closely with Head Office Sales and Planning teams, production leaders and suppliers, you will help ensure customer orders are completed in full, on time, and to specification.

Shift pattern: The role supports our Secondary Boning team, which typically works from 6:00am to 2:30pm. Some flexibility around hours is available. Occasional overtime may be required during busy periods, including some daily overtime and weekend work during peak lamb and calf processing seasons.

Te Mahi / Key Responsibilities

  • Establish production plans to support the effective implementation of prioritised sales orders
  • Set efficient packing plans to ensure sales orders are completed in full and on time
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication between Head Office Sales, Planning and site production teams
  • Support important labelling, traceability and compliance requirements
  • Ensure packaging purchasing is completed and aligned to production plans
  • Support customer, regulatory and internal audits
  • Maintain accurate production, scheduling and inventory records
  • Identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes and systems

Ōu Pūkenga / About You

  • Keen attention to detail
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Appropriate production experience and understanding of finished product specifications
  • Knowledge of production scheduling practices
  • A good knowledge of technology, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and master Excel
  • Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams
  • A proactive team player who enjoys a wide range of tasks
