About The Role
SUMMARY
Provides coordination of operational activities associated with the introduction, sustainment of a new product worldwide. Responsible for ensuring stable, controlled migration of hardware, software and networking changes into the production environment as well as consistency between production and test environments. Creates/maintains build processes, coordinates product builds for release into production, prioritizes failures and works with development to resolve problems. Sets up configuration specifications for releases.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Represents Worldwide Operations from a product perspective and creates factory strategies and plans for Worldwide Operations based on product plans, roadmaps, and budgets
- Ensures Operations achieves Ready to Ship Release and transactions into production/sustaining
- Utilizes Program Review Process (PrP)/Phase Gate Process to transition products from definition through to the sustaining phase
- Utilizes metrics to improve new production, introduction process and product quality, at launch and throughout life of the program. Drives action plans and strategies to reduce overall manufacturing transformation cost as well as continuous improvement in PrP process, product manufacturability and flexibility, and operations cycle time and quality
- Drives quality improvements by risk assessment/mitigation eliminating sources of defects in the design, supplier, new product introduction and manufacturing processes
- Prepare and deliver operations reviews where necessary
You will
- Drive design for manufacturability (DFX) excellence by reviewing, analyzing, documenting, and validating mechanical components and assemblies in collaboration with global manufacturing teams.
- Conduct design review to validate product robustness and performance, while assessing operational feasibility and enabling the introduction of new manufacturing processes for server product within factory environments.
- Interface cross-functionally with suppliers, engineering (mechanical & electrical), manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure successful development, qualification, and launch of new server products.
- Develop Integrated Level Assembly (ILA) documentation and governance process of DFX review across manufacturing, test, assembly, and quality domains.
- Develop production and build readiness plans, align global manufacturing capabilities with product roadmaps, and leverage metrics, root cause analysis, and risk mitigation to enhance manufacturability, cycle time, and overall product quality.

Essential Requirements
- Strong expertise in mechanical development and DFX processes with ability to plan, execute, and deliver complex product development activities from concept through production.
- Proven experience in mechanical design and engineering with typically 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combinations of education and experience (Bachelor’s/Master’s degree).
- Demonstrate technical leadership and cross-functional influence with the ability to drive alignment on critical requirements, optimize product designs and operational processes, and lead stakeholders across development and manufacturing environments.
- Solid program execution and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to drive technical initiatives, resolve complex issues, manage trade-offs, and mitigate risks to ensure successful product development and operational excellence.
- Interpret product specifications and translate them into operational requirements while effectively communicating across cross-functional teams.
