Bay State Community Services is seeking a compassionate, motivated Counselor to join our team at the Quincy Community Justice Support Center .

The Quincy CJSC works in partnership with the Massachusetts Trial Court – Office of Community Corrections and the justice system to provide intensive supervision, treatment, education, and support services to individuals involved with the legal system. The program is designed to promote public safety while helping participants make positive and sustainable changes in their lives.

As a Counselor, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-based, trauma-informed services that address participants' behavioral health, substance use, decision-making, and other individualized needs.

What You Will Be Doing to Make a Difference

  • Provide individual and group counseling to justice-involved adults.
  • Facilitate structured, evidence-based and cognitive-behavioral groups and interventions.
  • Conduct assessments and contribute to the development of individualized service and treatment plans.
  • Provide substance-use and behavioral-health education and support.
  • Help participants identify barriers, establish goals, and develop skills that support successful community living.
  • Utilize trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive approaches when working with participants.
  • Monitor participant engagement and progress toward established treatment goals.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and confidential clinical documentation.
  • Coordinate services and communicate with members of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Collaborate with probation, parole, court personnel, clinicians, educators, employment specialists, and other community providers as appropriate.
  • Participate in case reviews and team meetings.
  • Connect participants with appropriate community resources and additional behavioral-health or recovery supports.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Education, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or any human services related concentration required
  • Minimum of 2 years supervised counseling required
  • CADAC, SAS, LADC, or Substance Abuse counseling licensure preferred
  • CADAC, SAS or Substance Abuse treatment experience is a minimum requirement
  • Clinicians who do not have a college degree and/or a CADAC are expected to be actively pursuing this level of professional development
