Finance Officer (Accounting and Budgeting Section) (26270126)
Responsibilities
- Support the Finance Manager in overseeing the accounting related functions, including process and review invoices, purchase requisitions, staff claims, journal entries, fund monitoring and other daily financial transactions in accordance with the University’s policies and procedures;
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, management accounts, budgets and financial analysis, ensuring consistency between management reports and financial accounts;
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures and liaise with finance teams and auditors during annual audit;
- Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audit;
- Prepare the internal and external reporting within the University and relevant reporting parties;
- Build strong relationships and provide financial advice to faculties and administrative departments;
- Support special project team on finance transformation initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation; and
- Perform any other ad hoc tasks assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, with membership in a recognised professional accounting body;
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferably sizeable organisations;
- Strong numerical and data analysis skills with the ability to identify trends and support decision making;
- Proficiency in database and spreadsheet management is essential;
- Proficiency in computer application and strong Excel skills;
- Proactive mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;
- Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills, coupled with a can-do attitude;
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese and preferably Putonghua), along with strong interpersonal and collaboration abilities; and
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit a written test and an interview.
- The initial appointment will be offered a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
- Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
