About The Role
Assistant Engineer role is critical in effectively managing workloads between the transport teams in WSP and the GCC. This individual will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality support to WSP and the supervision of discipline project delivery from the Transport planning GCC, focused on enabling the delivery of sustainable low carbon transport solutions.
Perform and lead quantative analysis of the impact of transport schemes on carbon emissions, considering both user emissions, using transport modelling outputs, and embodied carbon based on scheme layouts. Summarise the key findings from analysis and make recommendations on reducing carbon impacts of proposals. To perform several quantitative and qualitative analyses to aid in the development of specific client sustainability solutions, such as corporate and/or product environmental foot printing; qualitative analyses such as materiality evaluations or gap analysis, and so on. Develop and/or review quantification methods for projects that account for GHG emission reductions or removals, undertaking or supervising related analysis. Assessments of carbon footprints, including data collection, analysis, and reporting. Research into current and future advances in the carbon and climate change sectors, both locally and globally, as they impact on Transport. Providing Contributing to carbon and climate change training programmes. To collaborate with colleagues across teams to enable carbon assessments to be completed to the required quality and to facilitate delivery of low carbon transport solutions for our clients. Support the successful delivery of high-quality projects on time and to budgets. Conduct required checks and reviews of GCC team's analysis and designs. Understand the contract and scope of project deliverables. Coordinate with Senior Engineers and support graduates in the team. Research and review design options for both technical and economic impact. Support line manager in planning resource needs and escalate as required if there are resource or utilization concerns. Provide feedback to line manager on the team s performance and development requirements. In conjunction with line manager identify, assess, and manage technical project risk. Support the company's approach to sustainability and actively contribute to developing our sustainable transport consultancy offer, in conjunction with relevant teams. Attend and contribute to team and project meetings. Complete accurate timesheets by set deadline. Feedback on all business development opportunities and contribute to continuous improvement of our products and processes.
Mandatory Skills Collaboration & Teamwork Commercial Acumen Technical Capability & Delivery related to sustainable low carbon transport Adaptability & Learning Work/ resource planning and allocation Demonstrable report writing expertise Qualifications MTech or equivalent degree in Transportation Planning/Environmental Minimum 1- 2yrs project experience in consulting work related to sustainability/carbon analysis/ emissions reductions processes Member or working towards associated Professional body membership Experienced user of Microsoft Office BGV: Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification (“BGV”) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India.
