Ruth & Naomi’s Mission has been serving the Chilliwack community for over 20 years. What began with handing out sandwiches to people experiencing homelessness has grown into a multi-site organization with over 100 staff serving people across a variety of programs. Every day we serve hundreds of meals, provide emergency shelter, and walk alongside individuals on their journey toward stability and recovery.

We are a Christian faith-based organization committed to seeing lives transformed by the love of God.

To support this work, we are looking for a Coffee Shop Keyholder to join our team.

Our coffee shop operates as a social enterprise and employment program , providing participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience in a supportive environment. This role plays an important part in both the daily operations of the coffee shop and in supporting participants as they develop workplace skills.

What You’ll Do

As a Coffee Shop Keyholder you will help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the coffee shop while creating a welcoming environment for customers, staff, volunteers, and program participants.

Responsibilities include

  • Preparing and serving coffee, beverages, and food items
  • Providing excellent and friendly customer service
  • Opening and/or closing the coffee shop as a keyholder
  • Operating the POS system and handling cash transactions
  • Maintaining a clean and organized coffee shop
  • Supporting participants gaining employment experience in the coffee shop
  • Modeling positive workplace behaviour and teamwork

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is reliable, customer-focused, and passionate about contributing to a supportive and welcoming environment.

Qualifications include

  • Previous café, barista, or customer service experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working alongside employment program participants
  • Food Safe certification (or willingness to obtain) required

Compensation & Benefits

  • $21.50 per hour
  • Employer-paid extended health benefits after probation for full-time employees
