About The Role

We are currently looking to fill a Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) position at American Express. This individual will support financial analysis and modelling on a wide range of critical business initiatives regarding our consumer and commercial businesses in Hong Kong. This position will be based full-time out of our Hong Kong office.

Develop a thorough understanding of business drivers and investment opportunities to support decision-making
Support and manage components of month-end closing, forecasting and budgeting process. Analyze and explain the variance between budgeted and actual financial results
Perform in-depth financial analyses, manage assigned business initiatives, and provide actionable recommendations to support business growth and decision-making
Maintain and enhance existing financial models and support model development with technological tools
Partner independently with stakeholders across Marketing, Risk, Central Finance, Controllership, and other functions to support business initiatives, provide financial insights, and ensure initiatives meet internal standards
Create meeting materials and presentation decks as needed
Collaborate across markets in order to share insights and best practices
A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering, or related disciplines preferred
5+ years of experience in financial planning & analysis, forecasting, banking, financial services, or other relevant industries.
Experience with architecting integrated models from scratch in Excel or other applications is preferred, as is knowledge of AI adoption
Hands-on experience with any programming language (e.g., TM1, VBA, SQL, SAS, Power BI) is a definitive advantage
Excellent analytical, writing, and presentation skills. Good verbal and written communication skills in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
Comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization
Prior experience with lending products or the lending industry is preferred but not required
Professional credentials such as a CPA/CPA/M.Sc. degree are advantageous
