Summary of Role

The HELOC Lending Specialist I serves as a key point of contact for Members seeking home equity financing. This role is primarily responsible for originating Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) applications, educating Members on product options, and ensuring accurate and compliant completion of all required disclosures. The HELOC Lending Specialist I delivers a high level of Member service, demonstrates strong phone etiquette, and effectively manages time and production goals within a fast-paced, high-volume lending environment.

Knowledge and Skills

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years in consumer lending with an emphasis on HELOCs
  • Strong knowledge of consumer lending products, particularly HELOCs.
  • Understanding of HELOC disclosures, documentation requirements, and application flow.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience originating consumer or home equity loans in a credit union or financial institution.
  • Familiarity with high volume inbound lending or call center style environments.
