About The Role

Brown & Buchanan Ventures Co. is a growing, veteran-owned hospitality company operating Grand Welcome vacation rental franchises across multiple states. We're looking for an experienced HR Generalist who enjoys creating structure, solving problems, and helping both employees and leaders succeed.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to own the day-to-day HR function while partnering directly with executive leadership to improve processes, support managers, and build a great employee experience.

If you're someone who enjoys balancing compliance with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and prefers improving systems over maintaining the status quo, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

You'll oversee the day-to-day Human Resources functions across multiple states, including

  • Lead full-cycle recruiting and onboarding
  • Partner with managers on employee relations and performance management
  • Administer employee benefits and leave programs
  • Support payroll processing
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Manage HRIS records and employee documentation
  • Develop and improve HR processes, policies, and SOPs
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, training improvement, and company culture
  • Help provide guidance to managers on routine employee matters

You'll work closely with our Chief of Staff, who oversees the company's people strategy, executive coaching, and complex employment matters.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who brings sound judgment, strong organization, and the confidence to operate independently.

Required

  • 2+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
  • Experience supporting employees across multiple states
  • Remote recruitment experience
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • Experience administering benefits, leave programs, and employee relations
  • Experience with payroll and HRIS platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

  • Professional proficiency in Spanish
  • Experience supporting remote teams
  • California employment law experience
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification
  • Hospitality or multi-location business experience
  • Reside in the Central or Mountain Time Zone

You'll Thrive Here If You...

  • Like improving systems instead of simply maintaining them.
  • Can balance empathy with accountability.
  • Take ownership without waiting to be asked.
  • Appreciate working on a small, collaborative team where your ideas have a direct impact.

What We Offer

  • Fully remote position
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off
  • Professional development opportunities
  • A collaborative leadership team that values initiative and continuous improvement
