Domes Resorts lands in Athens, introducing our first degustation restaurant in Thissio. Our talented, Michelin Starred Chef Patron Petros Dimas, alongside with a team of culinary experts will create the ultimate fine dining experience based on Greek creative cuisine.

We are currently hiring for Athens, looking for a highly energetic and passionate Service Captain , joining our team at MAKRIS Athens by Domes .

Service Captain

The Role

MAKRIS Restaurant is looking for an experienced and guest-focused Service Captain to lead our floor team and ensure every guest enjoys a seamless, memorable dining experience. As Service Captain, you'll be the link between the kitchen, the service team, and our guests, setting the pace, standards, and warmth that define MAKRIS's hospitality.

Some of the responsibilities you will be entrusted with

• Oversee the day-to-day floor operation, ensuring smooth, well-timed, and attentive service throughout each shift.
• Lead, coach, and motivate waitstaff, ensuring consistent adherence to service standards and etiquette.
• Coordinate closely with the kitchen team to ensure timely, accurate delivery of dishes and drinks.
• Greet and host guests, manage table assignments, and personally oversee VIP or special-occasion tables.
• Guide guests through the menu, wine list, and daily specials with confidence and genuine knowledge.
• Handle guest requests, feedback, and any service issues promptly and professionally.
• Supervise "mise en place", table setups, and cleanliness standards before, during, and after service.
• Train new team members on service procedures, brand standards, and MAKRIS's hospitality philosophy.
• Monitor stock levels of service essentials and liaise with the Restaurant Manager on ordering needs.
• Support with scheduling, briefings, and daily service planning as needed.

Requirements

Useful to have

• Proven experience as a Service Captain, Head Waiter/Waitress, or similar senior service role, ideally in fine-dining or upscale restaurant settings.
• Solid knowledge of food, beverage, and wine service standards.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant's operating hours.
• Fluency in Greek and English; additional language is a plus.
• Good knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
