About The Role

Reporting into the Head of Commercial/COO Japan, the Client Business Partner (CBP) is responsible for all commercial activities related to their designated globalized/globalizing Strategic Japanese Accounts and accountable for meeting the global revenue target set by NIQ. The CBP closely collaborates with the regional and local Sales teams as well as Client Solution Teams to achieve these financial objectives for their Accounts.

  • Consistently meet global sales targets on both a monthly and quarterly basis, managing all regional and local accounts under the same Japanese account headquarters.
  • Ensure pipeline adequacy to meet sales targets at all times, managing the overall account pipeline effectively.
  • Understand clients' business strategies to identify and develop revenue growth opportunities at global, regional, and local levels, by proactively providing consultative sales across all NIQ/GfK solutions such as market data, surveys, analytics, etc to meet client needs and support their business growth globally.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with C-suite level and key decision makers to enhance sales opportunities.
  • Lead Local/Regional account managers to ensure overall progress on global, regional and local level client engagement by supporting expanding client connections at regional and local levels, regular communication and close collaboration. Ensure regional and local teams comprehend and implement the account plan.
  • Oversee client service and management, building strong relationships with key client stakeholders, and client satisfaction for sustainable revenue.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in (1) marketing, research, sales, or sales planning of multi-national B2C manufacturers in FMCG industry or consumer electronics/home appliance industry; or (2) sales in consulting firms or advertising agencies with FMCG, consumer electronics, or home appliance manufacturers as clients; with sufficient experience of using market sales data (POS data), quantitative/qualitative surveys, and/or analytics. Experience of external customer engagement, deal closure, and revenue management vs. monthly or quarterly targets.
  • Able to deeply understand business strategy/challenges of B2C FMCG/consumer electronics/home appliance manufacturers and propose NIQ’s market data/surveys/analytics to help them grow their business.
  • Excellent sales/negotiation skills and a hunger to develop new business. Ability to negotiate high value contracts at a senior level. Strong focus to close deals, strong result-orientation.
  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels within internal and external organizations. Ability to make strong engagement with clients’ key stakeholders and C-Suite to drive continuous revenue. Good interpersonal and relationship building skills (internal, external, and cross-cultural).
  • Business/fluent in both Japanese and English enough to closely work with global/regional/local organizations of clients and within NIQ.
  • A bachelor's degree.

 

Preferred Skills/Traits

  • Experience of B2B sales role, managing client engagement, lead generation, deal closure, and revenue target, especially in intangible product/service industry, is a big plus.

  • Good verbal and presentation skills
  • Work experience in global business environment
