ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• ● Adapt classroom activities, assignments, and/or materials (e.g., art projects, computer skills, language skills, etc.)
• to support and reinforce classroom goals and objectives.
• ● Assist with classroom assignments to support teachers in the instructional process.
• ● Assist students, individually or in small groups, with lesson assignments (e.g., reading stories, providing writing
• assistance, reinforcing language skills, numbers, alphabet, computer learning programs, etc.) to practice and/or
• reinforce learning concepts and assist students in reaching academic goals and developmental milestones.
• ● Communicate with teachers for the purpose of assisting in implementing classroom objectives.
• ● Maintain classroom equipment, work area, and records (e.g., clean/bleach tables, sign-in/sign-out logs, etc.)
• to ensure item availability, provide written references, provide a safe learning environment, and/or meet
• mandated requirements.
• ● Monitor individual and/or group students in a variety of settings (e.g., classroom, playground, field trips, etc.) to
• provide a safe and positive learning environment.
• ● Perform general tasks (e.g., laminating, making copies, bulletin boards, filing, etc.) to help the teacher prepare
• instructional materials.
• ● Report observations and incidents relating to specific students (e.g. accidents, fights, appropriate and
• inappropriate social behavior, violations of rules, safety conditions, etc.) to communicate information to
• appropriate instructional and/or administrative personnel.
• ● Attend meetings and in-service presentations to acquire and convey information relative to job
• functions.
• ● Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
• ● Be familiar with and adhere to Type II state regulations, school policies and procedures, emergency drills, and
• safeguarding guidelines.
• ● Attend professional development meetings and workshops to meet state guidelines.
• ● Assist in diaper changing, bottle feeding, snack and lunchtime, playtime, stroller rides, etc.
• ● Perform tasks as directed by the lead teacher.
• ● Be actively advocating Kehoe-France Northshore’s vision, mission, and promises.
• PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical
• demands: lifting (up to 50 pounds), carrying, squatting, pushing, or pulling. Generally, the job requires sitting, walking, and
• standing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma

• This position is conditional to the provision of federal criminal background checks covering the countries that you have lived and
• worked in for the last 10 years and any convictions highlighted will be reviewed against standard Safeguarding principles of
• working with children. All checks requested to be received prior to commencement of employment. Additionally, all employees are
• required to be drug tested upon hire. The school also will require random drug tests
• Physical Requirements: The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling.
