About The Role

  • Help build an aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly interface, specifically designed to empower borrowers.
  • Engage in a partnership with our Product/UX team
  • Take charge of major segments of our system, demonstrating your expertise in both design and delivery. Your role will be pivotal in providing stable, high-quality solutions that stand the test of time. 
  • As an integral member of our engineering team, your role involves building robust and scalable software. Your work will lay the foundation for a resilient and evolving technological framework. 
  • Your commitment to writing clean, maintainable code is crucial. We prioritise practices that support continuous integration and deployment, adhering to the highest standards and guidelines in software development. 
  • Play a leading role in driving the engineering team's rhythm and processes, from planning and resource allocation to design, coding, deployment, and ongoing support. 
  • Embrace full ownership of the code you and your team develop. This includes being proactive in debugging, monitoring, and ensuring the utmost reliability in our production environment.  

 

  • Proficiency in TypeScript , with solid experience across Node.js back-end services and modern React front-ends.
  • Experience working with document databases, ideally MongoDB (schema design, indexing, performance, and/or change-stream or event patterns).
  • Strong experience building and operating services on AWS , including containerised workloads, networking, observability, and CI-driven deployments.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures (e.g. Kafka or similar), including designing resilient, asynchronous workflows.
  • Experience designing, building, and evolving HTTP APIs and data contracts , including backwards-compatible changes and integration with multiple consumers.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices , including automated testing, trunk-based development, and feature-flagged releases.
  • Experience working with third-party APIs, vendors, and partner platforms , including technical due diligence, integration design, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across multiple services and integrations, using logs, metrics, and traces effectively.
  • Experience with at least one secondary language (e.g. Kotlin) and a track record of learning new stacks and tools quickly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills , with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholder
