About The Role
What Your Day-To-Day Looks Like (Position Responsibilities)
- Develop, maintain, and manage complex integrated master schedules (IMS) for multiple projects and programs.
- Build project schedules from work breakdown structures (WBS), project plans, and program requirements.
- Establish logical task sequencing, predecessor/successor relationships, dependencies, milestones, constraints, and resource assignments.
- Maintain schedule integrity through regular validation, quality assurance, and configuration management practices.
- Perform critical path, float, schedule variance, and trend analyses to identify potential risks and impacts to project execution.
- Develop and maintain schedule baselines and document approved schedule changes.
- Conduct schedule status reviews with project managers, functional managers, and leadership.
- Prepare executive-level schedule reports, dashboards, and briefings.
- Identify schedule risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Ensure schedule alignment with organizational priorities, resource availability, and program objectives.
- Provide expert guidance on Microsoft Project functionality, scheduling methodologies, and best practices.
- Develop standardized scheduling processes, templates, and reporting mechanisms.
- Train project managers and team members in scheduling techniques and Microsoft Project usage.
- Support project planning, resource forecasting, and portfolio-level scheduling activities.
- Coordinate schedule integration across multiple projects to identify interdependencies and resource conflicts.
- Ensure compliance with organizational scheduling standards, policies, and contractual requirements.
What You Need to Succeed (Minimum Requirements)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Extensive experience developing and managing complex project schedules.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Project.
- Experience managing integrated master schedules for large, complex programs.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze schedule performance and communicate findings to senior leadership.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ideally, You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications)
- PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) certification.
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Experience supporting government or Department of Defense programs.
- Familiarity with scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, Project Online, or Microsoft Project Server.
- Experience with Power BI or other reporting and visualization tools.
