The Opportunity

South Bow is seeking a skilled and self-motivated Facilities Technician to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of terminal and pipeline facilities. This role is responsible for facility maintenance, equipment operation, site inspections, contractor coordination, inventory management, and heavy equipment transportation activities.

The successful candidate will apply their technical knowledge and practical field experience to maintain facility infrastructure, support regulatory compliance, and ensure operational readiness across assigned locations. Working independently with limited supervision, the Facilities Technician serves as a key contributor to operational excellence and supports a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

  • Perform facility maintenance activities including mowing, road maintenance, weed control, fence repairs, gate repairs, and general site upkeep.
  • Operate, inspect, and maintain mobile equipment in support of facility operations.
  • Conduct minor facility inspections and identify maintenance or operational issues requiring corrective action.
  • Create, coordinate, and monitor work orders resulting from inspection findings.
  • Coordinate and oversee contractors performing maintenance and repair activities.
  • Transport heavy equipment and materials safely and efficiently between operating locations.
  • Maintain inventories of site consumables, chemicals, supplies, equipment, and materials.
  • Support hazardous waste management, disposal activities, and associated documentation.
  • Perform routine welding and minor repair work as required.
  • Complete operational records, inspection reports, inventory documentation, and other compliance-related records.
  • Support emergency response activities and after-hours operational requirements when needed.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by actively participating in safe work practices, hazard assessments, and compliance initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Environmental, and contractor personnel to support reliable facility operations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in industrial operations, pipeline operations, terminal operations, facilities maintenance, construction, heavy equipment operations, or a related field.
  • Experience operating and maintaining mobile equipment and performing general facility maintenance activities.
  • Working knowledge of safe work practices, environmental requirements, and regulatory compliance in an industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve non-routine operational issues using sound judgment and established procedures.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and computerized maintenance or work management systems.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in varying weather and environmental conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical diploma or certification in industrial maintenance, heavy equipment operation, welding, construction trades, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working in pipeline, terminal, tank farm, energy, or oil and gas operations.
  • Heavy equipment hauling or transportation experience.
  • Welding experience and fabrication skills.
  • Experience managing contractors and coordinating field work activities.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and hazardous waste handling requirements.
  • Previous experience supporting multiple facility locations.

This Position Requires Candidates To

  • Successfully complete pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather and industrial operating environments.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull tools, equipment, and materials as required.
  • Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, training, or operational support (up to 15% of work schedule).
  • Stay overnight away from home base as required.
  • Provide emergency response support when required.
