As Senior Credit Officer you are responsible for different product/sector portfolios. From advising on new deals, setting strategic direction, portfolio maintenance (with support from credit officer) and contributing to [global] sector/product risk appetite. The deal flow and pace is high, so you will get to see much and it allows you to learn all aspects of credit risk management and WB’s risk appetite. Next to the core of your job, you will get the chance to be involved in strategic projects having an impact on the global risk organisation. Within ING Wholesale Banking, Transaction Approval & Control (TA&C) is responsible for the analysis, advice and decision making of transactions for our clients. This is done by risk managers (SCOs and Credit Officers) who have a thorough understanding of credit structuring, credit risk, credit policies, businesses & markets, and ESG related risks. In addition to the client-by-client approval process, risk managers are responsible for portfolio monitoring and advising senior management on strategic directions in terms of risk appetite and portfolio steering.
The Team
Our team is dynamic and we work closely with all our (EMEA) Front Office colleagues. Transaction timelines are usually demanding hence flexibility and a ‘can do ‘mentality is important. In AF and TMT&H we regularly work together with LDG and DCM teams. Our environment is dynamic and therefore the team spirit important, so to you it is very natural to support fellow TA&C colleagues who need a hand. The team consists of 8 FTE, your position will be based in the Amsterdam and you will report to the team lead. You act as main point of contact for FO teams on the respective portfolios. TA&C Amsterdam employs 80 persons and is organized in 7 teams; Energy, Transportation & Logistics; Real Estate; CSL, Infra and TS; Commodities, Food and Agri; Financial Institutions; TMT&H, Acquisition Finance and Securitization; Environmental & Social Responsibility. The team that is covering TMT&H, Acquisition Finance and Asset Securitization, is looking for a new colleague. Your scope will be a combination of Acquisition Finance and one of the TMT/H Sectors, but nothing is carved in stone.

- Carry end to end portfolio responsibility for different portfolio’s
- Strong credit analysis and structuring skills. Ability to signal market trends and adjust appetite
- Coach junior colleagues and strong stakeholder management
- Eagerness to support department wide projects to make our Risk role more effective and efficient.

We are looking for the following knowledge and experience
- Someone who easily understands different business models, market dynamics, financial analysis, and credit structuring.
- Proven track-record with at least 7-10yrs of WB risk/FO experience.
- You are curious and able to ask questions to understand the most material risks.
- An independent thinker, not afraid to provide a different point of view and open to the exchange of ideas.
- You are able and willing to express yourself, in writing and verbally, concise and clear.
- You’re a self-starter, hands on, pro-active, and you cope well with pressure.
