About The Role
JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Athletics Manager, the Tackle Football Scorekeeper will be responsible for understanding the rules of the league, keeping accurate scores and is expected to act in a professional manner to staff, teams, players, and fans at all times.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Must be prompt and present when scheduled.
- Some travel is required, and must provide own transportation.
- Perform the job safely and in compliance with district policies, procedures, work and safety rules.
- Be familiar with the safe operation of any equipment necessary in accomplishing required tasks.
- Obey the practical safety rules, regulations and procedures established by the safety program of the Elk Grove Park District.
- Arrive at the facility a minimum 15 minutes prior to game time.
- Be familiar with and promote established District policies and procedures and conduct self in accordance with the same.
- Attend necessary staff meetings and/or training prior to season, in-season and/or post-season.
- Must assist in solving any verbal or physical arguments.
- Perform any other similar or related Park District duties as required or assigned.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Must work around the general population.
- Must work under supervision and direction of the Athletic Coordinator.
- Able to work under stressful situations, including the ability to respond quickly and accurately to any and all emergencies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to communicate in various situations.
- Knowledge of the game and rules, including hand signals.
- Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions.
- Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with guests.
- Demonstrates good organization and oral communication skills.
- Fair, attentive, enthusiastic and display good sportsmanship.
- Reliable and prompt for games. Transportation is needed for away games.
- Must possess the ability to work with coaches and other staff and participants in a professional manner.
- Must be 16+ years of age

- Experience preferred, but not required
