Responsibilities
- Pre-op Inspections
- First Article Inspections
- Product sampling and in-line testing
- GMP enforcement
- Finished Product inspections
- Root-cause analysis and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) investigations
- Documentation review and acceptance
- Quality incident and deviation reporting
- Quality investigations and continuous improvement
- Supports the QA Manager during internal audits
- Conducts periodical inspections in coordination with the QA Manager
- Offers support for personnel training, quality standards and GMP Practices
- Assists in the development, review and revisions of SOP’s
- Performs calibration verifications and operational checklists
- Environmental monitoring
- Pest control and contamination monitoring
What you'll need to succeed
- Attention to detail
- Accuracy and detail in documentation
- Critical Thinking
- Proven root-cause analysis skills
- Adept at using Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in collaboration with different departments (Cultivation, Processing, Manufacturing and Compliance)
- Proficiency with Internal Audits and Regulatory inspections
- Experience with chain-of custody protocols
- Certification as a Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) by the American Society of Quality (ASQ) is a plus
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biology or related field preferred
- 1+ year of experience in a Quality Assurance, quality control or regulated production environment (cannabis, pharmaceutical, food/beverage industries)
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus
- Experience with GMP, Sanitation and HACCP are a plus
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Ability to pass a state-mandated background check and obtain a Texas Compassionate Use Program (CUP) card
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 20-30 lbs. for extended periods
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including facemask, beard net, lab coat, shoe covers and hairnet
- Exposure to varying temperatures, humidity levels and plant material/allergens typical of a cannabis cultivation and production environment
- Ability to work in a controlled-access facility with strict security and compliance protocols.
