About The Role

As a Solution Architect for SAP Human Capital Management, you leverage deep industry and solution expertise along with a strong understanding of client priorities to create tailored solutions that clearly demonstrate our value proposition and increase our success rate throughout the sales process.

Responsible for offer creation and proposal management, your expertise in the end-to-end HCM lifecycle – combined with in-depth knowledge of SAP HCM solutions, including SAP ERP HCM, S/4HANA, SuccessFactors, and hybrid landscapes – enables you to translate complex HR business needs into scalable, user-friendly digital solutions that follow industry trends and best practices.

Key Responsabilities

  • Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) and lead for the holistic SAP HCM solution during the pre-sales phase.
  • Coordinate and mediate within the solution group, ensuring synchronization across contributors and making decisions on priorities and direction.
  • Analyze and interpret client requests to identify business and functional requirements, and design tailored end-to-end SAP HCM solution architectures that align with the client’s business goals, SAP capabilities, and technical standards.
  • Lead the solutioning process, from initial analysis through risk assessment to proposal submission, ensuring all components are covered.
  • Identify and structure all solution-related work packages, including responsibilities, dependencies, and effort estimations.
  • Ensure consistency across all solution-related units (Sales, Procurement, Value Consulting, Delivery, etc.) by working closely together to align client expectations with the solution design and implementation capabilities.
  • Perform bottom-up calculations, consolidating all effort and cost inputs to support a realistic and competitive business case.
  • Ensure all costs, assumptions, obligations, baselines, and FTE lines are in line with the proposed solution and accurately reflected in the proposal.
  • Secure delivery commitments from all contributing units to validate delivery feasibility and accountability.
  • Defend the proposed solution in internal reviews and client-facing presentations, acting as the lead solution representative.
  • Stay up to date with market/industry trends, SAP roadmap developments, and competitor offerings to ensure the proposed solutions remain innovative and competitive.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Design and validate end-to-end integration architectures across SAP SuccessFactors, SAP ERP / S/4HANA, payroll platforms, and third-party HR applications, with a strong focus on scalability, maintainability, and operational stability.
  • Define integration strategies using SAP BTP and SAP Integration Suite (CPI), covering interface design, data flows, exception handling, monitoring, and integration governance.
  • Lead solution discovery and design workshops with client stakeholders, translating business requirements into clear solution scope, assumptions, risks, and design decisions.
  • Evaluate security and compliance aspects of the proposed solution, including HR data privacy, role-based access design, and regulatory considerations.
  • Define architectural principles and ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards and long-term platform strategy.
  • Provide architectural governance during proposal and early delivery phases, ensuring a consistent transition from solution design to project execution.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience designing hybrid HR landscapes combining SAP SuccessFactors cloud solutions with SAP ERP or S/4HANA environments.
  • Strong understanding of HR data models and employee master data structures across SAP HCM and SuccessFactors.
  • Experience supporting international HR transformation programs and global template rollouts.
  • Ability to facilitate functional and technical workshops with business and IT stakeholders.
  • Experience identifying architectural risks, dependencies, and solution trade-offs during proposal preparation.
  • Demonstrated experience working in cross-functional teams, ideally in pre-sales, solution architecture, or transformation projects, with involvement in managing solution streams and contributing to proposal development.
  • Skilled in effort estimation, solution costing, and business case development.
  • Excellent analytical and documentation skills, with attention to detail and a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Effective communication and strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in business-level English (written and spoken); proficiency in German is a plus
  • Knowledge of HR industry trends, digital transformation drivers, and HCM best practices.
