About The Role

We are hiring a Joiner - Multi-Skilled Operative at Target Housing to join our Maintenance team.

Location: Rotherham, S60 1BY

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent (39 hours per week)

Main Purpose: To maintain the properties within the Target portfolio to a high standard. To carry out planned, reactive and emergency repairs as and when required within agreed timescales.

Specific Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Work independently on task lists
  • Maintenance and repair work for buildings and facilities
  • Completing joinery, such as but not limited to: studwork, roofing joinery, hanging doors, skirting boards, architraves and installing kitchens
  • Basic plumbing tasks
  • Assist and liaise with external contractors and others as necessary
  • Undertake emergency jobs (e.g. reacting to the impact of weather conditions on buildings and grounds)
  • Be involved with building and maintenance work, when required, to alter or create workspaces suitable for the needs of the business
  • Maintenance of buildings and offices to comply with current legislation
  • Attend team meetings, supervisions, and training as directed
  • To understand and comply with Health and Safety regulations
  • Undertake any other duties as required to meet the needs of the organisation

Person Specification

  • Able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
  • You will demonstrate good aptitude for ‘hands on’ work and the use of hand tools
  • Good communication skills with the ability to follow instructions
  • You have a positive ‘can do’ attitude, with adaptability to change and varying work priorities
  • You will have excellent reliability & flexibility as a team member, committed to excellent levels of punctuality and attendance
  • You will be a high-quality installer/fitter/joiner
  • A full driving licence is essential
  • An awareness of Health & Safety working practices
