Bank Healthcare Assistant - Lincolnshire

Your role in our mission

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant looking for a role where your care can make a meaningful difference every day? Join our community team in Lincolnshire and help provide personalised, dignified end-of-life care that supports people to remain at home, including in residential homes.

In this rewarding role, you will work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, helping people feel safe, comfortable and respected at a highly important time in their lives. You will support individual care plans by assisting with personal care, skin integrity, nutrition and hydration, mobility, rest and sleep, and maintaining a clean and safe care environment.

You will also play an important part in observing and responding to changes in a person’s condition, supporting symptom management within the agreed care plan, and escalating any concerns promptly to registered healthcare professionals. Just as importantly, you will offer calm, sensitive and professional communication to patients and those important to them, helping to preserve dignity, choice and wellbeing.

Contract Type : As & When

Job Shifts : Night shifts between 20:00 and 08:00, with the service operating 365 days a year

Salary : Marie Curie Pay Scale Band 2, aligned with AFC, at £12.92 per hour. Enhanced pay applies for weekend and bank holiday shifts, with uplifts of up to 41% for Saturdays and up to 83% for Sundays and bank holidays

Location : Community-based in Lincolnshire covering Boston, Grantham and Lincoln

What we are looking for:  

• Relevant recent experience providing care in a Health or Social Care Environment, including caring for patients at the end of life. 
• NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
• Be person-centred and compassionate when caring for the person and those important to them. 
• Ability to develop and evaluate care management plans that meet the complex needs of the person, and those important to them. 
• Emotional resilience and the capacity to work independently.
• Access to a personal vehicle, a valid driving license and business insurance. You must be able to travel to the Lincoln, Boston and Grantham bases as required.
