About The Role

You will be responsible for

  • Running the store commercially including, displaying and merchandising, stock management and generation, maintaining store standards, layout of store and opening and closing of store.
  • Ensuring an excellent customer and supporter service throughout the store, on sales floor and at till point including payment processes and customer loyalty sign up.
  • Managing the movement and redistribution of large volumes of donations, with the ability to understand where to redistribute high value or excess stock, including online marketplaces and other Marie Curie stores.
  • Managing, recruiting, developing and retaining a diverse team (both paid and volunteers) ensuring that they are motivated, trained and equipped with enough knowledge to maximise their potential.
  • Generating additional income/stock through local community and corporate engagement, remaining proactive to ensure engagement Is high.

Key criteria

  • Commercially minded with demonstrated experience in a role with full profit and loss accountability.
  • Ability to motivate and influence others.
  • Ability to think creatively and adapt to competing demands/deadlines & challenging situations including making quick decisions when required.
  • Comprehensive experience of working in a busy, high volume retail environment, managing large volumes of stock.
  • Experience of line managing a large and diverse team of people.
  • Experience of visual merchandising and display.
  • Ability to use computers with confidence.

Location : Bishop Auckland Superstore

  • Salary: £27,000-30,000 per annum plus benefits
  • Hours per week: 35 hours per week
