Job Description​

Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City is recruiting a BC/BE Acute Care/Trauma Surgeon to join its highly respected Trauma and Surgical Critical Care Specialists team. This outstanding opportunity offers the chance to practice at an ACS-verified Level I Trauma Center and tertiary referral center while playing a key role in the continued growth of an academic Acute Care Surgery program in partnership with the UMKC School of Medicine.

Position Highlights

  • Join an established ACS-verified Level I Trauma Center and a collaborative, mission-driven team dedicated to excellence in trauma surgery, acute care surgery, and surgical critical care, offering a unique blend of advanced clinical practice, resident education, clinical research, and leadership opportunities within one of the Midwest’s premier healthcare organizations.
  • Practice the full spectrum of Acute Care Surgery , including trauma surgery, emergency general surgery, and surgical critical care, while managing critically ill surgical patients in a high-acuity academic environment.
  • Opportunity to perform minimally invasive and robotic procedures utilizing the da Vinci Surgical System .
  • Participate in a comprehensive Surgical ICU program providing care for trauma, emergency general surgery, transplant, surgical oncology, neurosurgical, and other complex surgical subspecialty patients.
  • Work within a robust multidisciplinary team supported by experienced critical care nurses, pharmacists, therapists, and five dedicated Advanced Practice Providers.

  • Saint Luke's Hospital serves as a major teaching affiliate and primary clinical training site for the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine .

Academic opportunities include

Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery through the American Board of Surgery and certified or eligible for certification in Surgical Critical Care
  • Demonstrate a commitment to high-quality patient care, resident education, multidisciplinary collaboration, and academic excellence
