Aroturuki Tamariki | Independent Children’s Monitor provides oversight of the oranga tamariki system. We check that organisations supporting and working with tamariki (children) and rangatahi (young people) in the oranga tamariki system are meeting their needs, delivering services effectively, and improving outcomes. We do this by listening to the experiences of those in the system and analysing data, to provide insights that will drive continuous improvement for tamariki and rangatahi – particularly tamariki and rangatahi Māori and tamariki and rangatahi with disabilities.
As Kaitātari Raraunga Mātāmua | Senior Analyst Data and Insights, you will work within a team of data and insights colleagues who provide analysis, insights and reporting on the qualitative data that our monitoring teams collect during fieldwork and the quantitative data provided by agencies within the Oranga Tamariki system.
In this role you will develop and maintain SQL Server databases in the Microsoft Azure platform, and Power BI dashboards, to enable efficient and insightful analysis and reporting of quantitative data. You will also upskill others in the team who are developing these skills.
We are looking for a senior analyst who can bring most or all of the following
- extensive experience in the design, development and maintenance of SQL Server databases, data models and data pipelines in the Microsoft Azure platform
- proven ability to develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, translating business requirements into intuitive self-service analytics solutions
- demonstrated commitment to producing and maintaining high-quality documentation that supports best practice and knowledge sharing
- analytical capability to transform complex quantitative data into clear, actionable insights
- understanding of the significance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and ability to weave a te ao Māori perspective into data management and analysis
- ability to coach others and build capability across the organisation
