About The Role

A Pediatric Dentist Associate specializes in providing comprehensive dental care for children, from infancy through adolescence, focusing on preventive, restorative, and emergency treatments. They create a positive and comfortable experience for young patients while educating parents on maintaining good oral health habits.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide pediatric dental care, including exams, cleanings, sealants, fillings, crowns, pulpotomies, extractions, and space maintainers
  • Diagnose dental conditions and develop individualized, age-appropriate treatment plans
  • Utilize behavior management techniques to ensure a calm and positive patient experience
  • Educate patients and parents/guardians on proper oral hygiene and preventive care
  • Administer nitrous oxide and/or sedation as licensed and permitted
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of exams, diagnoses, treatment plans, and outcomes in the EHR
  • Ensure compliance with safety, sterilization, HIPAA, and infection control protocols
  • Collaborate with general dentists, orthodontists, and other specialists to provide integrated patient care
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and community outreach programs promoting children’s oral health
  • Contribute to a professional, upbeat, and child-friendly environment for patients and staff
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, patient satisfaction, and case acceptance
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operations

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school
  • Completion of an accredited pediatric dentistry residency program
  • Active state dental license and specialty license in Pediatric Dentistry (if applicable)
  • Current BLS and PALS certification
  • Experience and comfort working with children of all ages, including those with special healthcare needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate, kid-focused demeanor
  • Proficiency with pediatric dental technologies and digital charting systems
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced, team-oriented practice
