What You’ll Do and What Success Looks Like

• Market Leadership and Strategy : Inspire to uplift WeLab Hong Kong’s loan business market penetration, aiming to become the market leader in Hong Kong. Establish and execute WeLab bank and Welend’s loan business proposition and strategies, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
• Product & Channel Innovation: Lead the design, development, and enhancement of lending products across WeLab Bank and WeLend. Drive innovative lending solutions and distribution channels to accelerate customer acquisition, engagement, and portfolio growth.
• P&L Management: Assume full ownership and accountability for the overall P&L and business targets of WeLab Bank and Welend's loan business. Develop and implement strategies to achieve financial goals, monitor performance, and make necessary adjustments to meet targets.
• Leadership and Oversight : Lead and oversee all aspects of the lending process and loan-related business activities, including Loan Product & Partnership, Loan Operation, Channel Management and Collection. Foster a high-performing and collaborative culture, inspiring teams to deliver exceptional results and meet business objectives. Build strong relationship with key internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, auditors, and industry associations.
• Portfolio Soundness and Profit Maximization: Ensure the overall soundness of WeLab Bank and Welend's loan portfolio, including portfolio mix, credit quality, pricing strategy, and risk mitigation. Maximize profit growth while maintaining a prudent risk appetite and adhering to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Regulatory Compliance: Establish and enforce proper policies and procedures for all lending products and practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines. Stay updated on regulatory changes and proactively implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.

• What is Required and What We’re Looking For

• Degree holder in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or other relevant disciplines
• -
• Minimum 15 years of experience in consumer lending, retail banking, digital banking or financial services, with substantial experience in a senior leadership role
• -
• Proven track record of driving business growth, portfolio performance and P&L management within a lending business
• -
• Strong expertise in lending products, customer acquisition, channel management, partnerships, and product innovation
• -
• Sound understanding of credit risk management, portfolio management, pricing strategies, collections, and risk-return optimization
• -
• In-depth knowledge of HKMA regulatory requirements and banking industry practices
• -
• Strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and an entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities and deliver sustainable growth

• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese
