Tasks and responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and test embedded software
• Perform manual and automated verification of software functionality
• Test software to ensure compliance with technical specifications
• Document implemented software solutions
• Debug and troubleshoot embedded system issues
• Apply functional and object-oriented programming practices in Linux-based systems
• Continuously improve software quality, performance, and maintainability
• Collaborate with Customer Support to investigate and resolve field issues

Knowledge, skills and experience required

• Academic degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable field
• Strong Linux shell skills
• Good programming skills in Rust and/or C/C++
• Experience with software debugging tools and methods (e.g., GDB, code inspection, logging)
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
• Experience with Git version control
• Experience with Embedded Linux
• Good communication skills in German and English
• Independent working style with a high level of personal responsibility and initiative

Nice-to-have skills and experience

• Experience with build systems, especially Yocto
• Experience in Linux kernel driver development
• Experience designing or developing real-time applications
• Practical knowledge of inter-process communication mechanisms
• Knowledge of optical networking technologies
