Overview of TUJ

Established in 1982, the Japan campus of Temple University (TUJ) is a full-service branch campus that educates students from nearly 70 countries in English in its undergraduate programs, graduate programs (law, business, graduate education), and non-degree programs (continuing education and corporate education). TUJ offers undergraduate programs to a broad mix of over 3,300 Japanese and non-Japanese degree-seeking students who will earn their degrees from Temple University through the Japan campus. Every semester, additional students from Temple’s main campus and other universities converge on our campus for a short-term study abroad experience.

In one of the most dynamic cities in the world, we offer thirteen full undergraduate majors ranging from Art to International Business to Psychology. Our faculty and staff are international, with 68 full-time faculty joined by experienced administrators and many part-time adjunct faculty from the professions, business, and the arts. TUJ holds classes in the fall and spring semesters (15 weeks) and over a well-enrolled 10-week summer semester.

Overview of Positions

TUJ is looking for part-time faculty members who can teach following courses

• PSY 1001 Introduction to Psychology, 3 Credit Hours.
• PSY 1003 Statistics for Psychology, 3 Credit Hours.
• PSY 1004 Critical Thinking in Psychology (Research Methods), 3 Credit Hours.
• PSY 3096 Conducting Psychological Research, 3 Credit Hours.

• These positions are part-time for the semester, with the possibility of continuing to teach in the future. Successful applicants will teach one or two courses per semester.
• These courses are designed to teach in-person at TUJ Campus.
• However, online teaching asynchronously or synchronously can be considered under certain conditions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Doctorate degree or master’s degree in psychology or similar field
• Instruction is in English and fluency in English is required
• Prior experience in teaching at tertiary education level is desirable but not essential
