About The Role
What you'll be doing
- Leading user research across discovery, alpha, beta and live phases.
- Planning and conducting interviews, usability testing, contextual research and workshops.
- Working closely with multidisciplinary teams to shape products and services.
- Synthesising research findings into clear insights and recommendations.
- Helping teams understand the needs, behaviours and priorities of users.
- Supporting service design, product and delivery decisions through evidence.
- Engaging with client stakeholders and building trusted relationships.
- Contributing to bids and proposals where user-centred design expertise is required.
- Supporting the continued growth of Scott Logic's User-Centred Design capability.
- Helping develop reusable approaches, patterns and delivery assets that strengthen future projects.
Essential experience
- Significant experience delivering user research within complex digital or service transformation programmes.
- Experience working as part of multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong understanding of Government Digital Service principles, service standards and user-centred design practices.
- Experience planning and delivering a range of qualitative research activities.
- Strong analysis and synthesis skills, with the ability to turn findings into actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
- Experience working with a broad range of stakeholders, including senior decision makers.
- Ability to communicate research findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working within large organisations or complex service environments.
- A strong understanding of accessibility, inclusion and designing for diverse user needs.
