Senior Data Engineer [Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, RBAC] (AU, FinTech, Hybrid)

Schedule: Monday to Friday (7am to 4pm PHT)

Hybrid: 3x per week onsite

About the Role

ConnectOS is seeking a highly capable Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data infrastructure that supports real-time insights and data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role focuses on modern data stack technologies, including Snowflake, dbt, and ETL tools, and requires strong ownership in building and maintaining end-to-end data pipelines and warehouse solutions.

What will you do?

Data Pipeline Engineering

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using modern data tools
• Develop robust and efficient data transformations using Python and SQL
• Integrate and manage data ingestion using tools such as Fivetran or similar
• Implement data validation, testing, and quality frameworks
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize pipeline performance

Data Warehousing & Modeling

• Design and maintain enterprise data warehouse solutions (Snowflake)
• Build and manage dbt models (staging, intermediate, marts)
• Develop scalable data models and schemas aligned with business requirements
• Optimize query performance and data access patterns
• Maintain data documentation, lineage, and governance practices

Data Security & Governance

• Implement and manage Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
• Ensure compliance with data security and governance standards
• Maintain secure data access and handling practices

Cloud & Platform Engineering

Build and manage scalable data solutions on cloud platforms (AWS preferred)

Utilize services such as

AWS S3, RDS

AWS Lambda

Step Functions

Contribute to infrastructure design for reliable data systems

DevOps & Automation

• Implement CI/CD pipelines for data workflows
• Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) where applicable
• Automate deployment, monitoring, and operational processes
• What are we looking for?

Must-Have

• 5-6+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer
• Proven track record in designing and maintaining data pipelines and warehouses

Strong expertise in

• Snowflake (advanced SQL, data modeling, performance tuning)
• dbt (data modeling, testing, transformations)
• ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Fivetran or similar)

Proficiency in Python and SQL

• Experience implementing data quality frameworks and validation checks
• Strong understanding of data security and RBAC
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality solutions

Nice to Have

Experience with

AliCloud (MaxCompute)

Debezium or real-time data ingestion tools

Exposure to analytics tools such as

• QuickSight, Datawind, or similar platforms
• Experience with MySQL / MariaDB or other relational databases
• Hands-on experience in AWS cloud services
• Knowledge of real-time or streaming data architectures

Soft Skills

• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
• Self-driven with strong ownership mindset
• Fluent/Proficient in English language
• Mandarin is a plus
