About The Role

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday (7:00AM - 4:00PM PHT)
  • What are we looking for?

Skills Required

5+ years experience in Oracle DBA or Application DBA roles

Strong SQL skills, including

  • Proven experience in production support environments
  • Strong understanding of database performance tuning concepts
  • Experience with AWS RDS (Oracle) or cloud-managed databases
  • Ability to troubleshoot across database and application layers
  • Experience working in agile/product engineering teams
  • Experience with Java or backend technologies
  • Experience with scripting (e.g., Python, Shell) for automation
  • Familiarity with batch processing or job scheduling systems
  • What will you do?
  • Act as the owner and champion of data quality standards across the organization
  • Provide 24×7 on-call support for Oracle production databases
  • Act as primary responder for P1/P2 incidents
  • Diagnose and resolve issues quickly
  • Analyse and optimise SQL Queries, Execution Plans, Index Strategies
  • Proactively monitor database performance and identify improvement opportunities
  • Work closely with engineers to improve inefficient queries and optimise batch processing workloads
  • Perform core DBA activities
  • Support security, audit logging, and compliance requirements
  • Assist in transitioning and maintaining database alerting and on-call processes
  • Collaborate with FMS engineers to troubleshoot issues across Oracle Database and Java/batch application layer
  • Assist with SQL changes and minor application fixes where required
  • Contribute to improvements in batch stability and data processing performance
  • Identify opportunities to automate DBA tasks, improve observability and alerting, and reduce operational risk
  • Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing within the team
