About The Role
Schedule: Monday - Friday (9:00 PM to 6:00 AM PHT)
What are we looking for?
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to support attorneys in all aspects of matrimonial and family law matters. The ideal candidate will have experience handling divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, and post-judgment matters in New York State courts. This position requires strong organizational skills, professionalism, the ability to manage sensitive client matters, and familiarity with New York family law procedures and filing requirements.
Skills Required
- Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
- PH JD is required
- Minimum of 2 years of family law paralegal experience in New York State preferred.
- Knowledge of New York matrimonial and family court procedures.
- Experience with NYSCEF electronic filing system.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
What will you do?
- Prepare, draft, and review legal documents including summonses, complaints, motions, stipulations, affidavits, affirmations, judgments of divorce, and settlement agreements.
- Assist attorneys with contested and uncontested divorce matters, custody and visitation proceedings, child support matters, spousal maintenance issues, and enforcement proceedings.
- Prepare and organize financial disclosure documents including Statements of Net Worth and discovery responses.
- File legal documents through NYSCEF and ensure compliance with New York court rules, deadlines, and procedures.
- Maintain case calendars, monitor court appearances and deadlines, and coordinate scheduling with courts, clients, opposing counsel, and experts.
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding case status, document collection, scheduling, and procedural matters.
- Prepare exhibits, hearing binders, trial materials, and attorney preparation packets.
- Assist with preparation for mediations, depositions, conferences, and trials.
- Maintain organized physical and electronic client files and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Conduct legal and factual research as needed.
