About The Role
Part-Time Intern
Introduction
This IT Support role provides entry-level technical assistance in resolving basic IT issues, supporting user account management, and maintaining IT assets, while gaining hands-on experience in troubleshooting, service delivery, and day-to-day IT operations under the guidance of senior team members.
Responsibilities
- Help resolve basic IT issues, incidents, and service requests through remote or onsite support under supervision.
- Participate in troubleshooting and diagnosing hardware and software problems with guidance from senior staff.
- Collaborate with the IT team to escalate and follow up on more complex technical issues.
- Support the documentation and tracking of incidents and service requests using the organization's ticketing system.
- Aid in creating and managing user accounts, including access permissions and security group assignments.
- Assist with the onboarding and offboarding processes by preparing user accounts and IT equipment.
- Help maintain accurate IT asset records and assist in tracking inventory in coordination with the Inventory Officer.
- Participate in periodic audits of user accounts to ensure proper access control.
- Prepare and test IT equipment for remote (Work from Home) staff, ensuring functionality and readiness.
- Inspect returned equipment and assist in reporting missing or damaged items.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of troubleshooting common hardware and software issues.
- Familiarity with remote support tools and service desk/ticketing systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of user account administration and basic networking concepts (e.g., IP addressing, DNS, DHCP) is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.
- A team player with a customer-focused attitude.
- Willingness to work onsite when required.
- Ability to lift and move IT equipment as needed (with supervision if necessary).
