Why Box needs you

The Box Extract team is a core part of Box’s AI strategy, focused on transforming unstructured enterprise content (PDFs, contracts, invoices, forms, and more) into structured, actionable data.

You will lead a Warsaw-based engineering team within the Box Extract organization. This team operates within the application layer, responsible for turning advanced AI capabilities (OCR and LLM-based Extract Agents) into a scalable, customer-facing product.

Who you are

  • People-first engineering leader with 2+ years of engineering management experience and strong technical background
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems and service-oriented architectures
  • Comfortable operating across both backend and frontend concepts (full-stack awareness)
  • Strong technical judgment — able to evaluate system design decisions, trade-offs, and engineering approaches
  • Experience working in data-driven environments (metrics such as velocity, predictability, delivery performance)
  • Skilled at building and growing teams, supporting both senior and junior engineers
  • Clear, concise communicator who values transparency and proactive risk management
  • Effective stakeholder manager, able to collaborate with cross-functional and distributed teams (including US-based partners)
  • Comfortable operating in dynamic, evolving environments with dependencies across teams

Proficient in English

Nice to have

Experience in SaaS or product-driven companies

Exposure to AI/ML-powered systems or data processing platforms

Experience working with distributed, international teams

Responsibilities

Build, lead, and grow a engineering team (5–7 engineers) in Warsaw

Define the team’s roadmap, execution strategy, and own delivery outcomes

Ensure strong delivery predictability, including planning, estimation, and execution

Partner with engineers on system design and technical decisions (non-coding role)

Develop team members through 1:1s, coaching, performance management, and hiring

Establish a strong, collaborative, and accountable team culture

Drive high standards in execution, quality, and scalability

Organize team processes (stand-ups, sprint planning, technical discussions) and track progress

Collaborate with product and partner teams to scope initiatives and align on priorities

Manage cross-team dependencies and coordinate with stakeholders across regions

Proactively identify risks and ensure transparency in delivery

Represent Box internally and externally
