Lead the end-to-end financial reporting COE team, deliver high-quality statutory reporting, management reporting and ad-hoc financial analysis reports for APAC REMS FP&A and FBP Team. Take charge of full team management, reporting standard unification, reporting process automation, cross-regional high-level stakeholder alignment, and ensure all reporting deliverables meet global group requirement, local regulatory compliance and frontline FP&A business decision-making needs.

Key Job Responsibilities

  1. Operational Reporting Delivery & Quality Control (Core Accountability)
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of assigned reporting streams (e.g., monthly/quarterly closings, packs, or specific management reports). Perform senior-level technical reviews on complex consolidations, variance analysis, and ad-hoc requests before submission to ensure zero material errors.
  • Monitor daily team progress against the global reporting calendar. Identify potential bottlenecks early in the cycle and implement immediate corrective actions to ensure 100% on-time delivery.
  • Serve as the primary operational contact for assigned APAC REMS FP&A/FBP stakeholders. Handle routine query resolutions, clarify data discrepancies, and ensure smooth handover of final reports. Escalate complex strategic issues to the Reporting CoE Leader when necessary.
  • Maintain rigorous adherence to SLA targets (timeliness, accuracy). Conduct post-close reviews for the sub-team to identify near-misses and implement quick-fix controls to prevent recurrence.
  1. Team Supervision & Technical Coaching
  • Manage the daily workload allocation for the 6-person sub-team. Balance tasks during peak periods (month-end/year-end) to ensure equitable distribution and prevent burnout.
  • Provide hands-on technical coaching and mentoring to team members. Conduct regular 1:1s to review performance, address skill gaps, and guide career development. Focus on uplifting the team’s technical accounting knowledge and system proficiency.
  • Foster a collaborative team culture. Resolve minor interpersonal conflicts and maintain high morale during high-pressure closing windows. Act as a role model for professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Assist the CoE Leader in identifying high-potential talent within the sub-team and recommending them for broader COE initiatives or promotion pipelines.
  1. Process Execution, Standardization & Automation Support
  • Execute and maintain standardized SOPs for the sub-stream. Ensure all team members strictly follow unified report templates and data mapping logics to minimize manual intervention risks.
  • Identify inefficiencies in daily BAU processes within the sub-team. Propose practical automation solutions (e.g., Excel macros, Power Query improvements) and collaborate with the CI team or CoE Leader to implement them.
  • Contribute to the centralized error case library by logging defects found during reviews. Analyze trends within the sub-stream and lead targeted training sessions to address recurring technical errors.
  1. Stakeholder Communication & Issue Resolution
  • Engage in operational syncs with frontline FP&A partners. Proactively communicate status updates on deliverables and flag data quality issues from source systems promptly.
  • Manage expectations regarding ad-hoc request timelines. Negotiate realistic turnaround times based on current capacity and escalate resource constraints to the CoE Leader if workload exceeds team capacity.
  • Support the CoE Leader in preparing materials for higher-level stakeholder reviews by providing accurate data insights and root-cause analysis for specific variances or anomalies.
  1. Capability Building & Knowledge Sharing
  • Design and deliver technical training sessions for the sub-team on new accounting standards, system updates (PS/EPM/OCI), or reporting tool enhancements.
  • Cross-traing team members to ensure adequate backup coverage for key roles within the sub-stream, minimizing single-point-of-failure risks.
  • Continuously upgrade personal expertise in financial reporting standards (IFRS/US GAAP) and share best practices with the wider COE team.
