What this job involves
Lead the end-to-end general ledger accounting operation for China entities, ensure accurate, timely and compliant financial closing, manage daily operation of 23 GL team members, drive process optimization, quality improvement and cross-team collaboration, support overall R2R center performance target delivery.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Financial Closing & Accounting Operation Management (Core Responsibility)
- Take full ownership of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial closing activities for all in-scope China entities; formulate detailed closing timeline, monitor full progress of closing tasks, eliminate bottlenecks during period-end closing, ensure 100% on-time closing delivery and meet global financial closing deadlines.
- Manage daily general ledger accounting activities, including journal entry review, manual posting approval, accrual & deferral calculation and posting, fixed asset accounting, inter-company reconciliation & clearing, cost allocation and other core GL works.
- Responsible for overall account reconciliation management: organize team to complete balance sheet accounts reconciliation, long-term pending items follow-up and clearance, ensure zero material unreconciled items at the end of each period; prepare reconciliation analysis reports for global finance and local business stakeholders.
- Support group internal and external audit, respond to audit queries related to GL module, sort out audit working papers, track audit findings and complete rectification within required timeline.
- Team Daily Management & Performance Governance
- Full people management for 9 GL team members: including daily work arrangement, task allocation, attendance management, work from home supervision, and daily operational problem solving.
- Establish and track team individual & KPI team performance indicators (including closing timeliness, accounting error rate, reconciliation completion rate, ticket handling efficiency etc.), conduct regular performance evaluation, one-on-one communication and performance improvement coaching.
- Reasonably allocate manpower according to month-end/year-end peak workload, arrange shift and overtime schedule, balance team workload to avoid operational risk caused by manpower mismatch.
- Process Optimization, SOP Governance & Risk Control
- Sort out and update GL team standardized SOP regularly, unify accounting operation standards, reduce manual operation errors and inconsistent operation behaviors.
- Continuously identify pain points and risks in daily GL operation, propose process optimization solutions, cooperate with global process owner, IT team and other R2R sub-teams (P2P/O2C) to implement automation and process upgrade projects, reduce manual workload and improve overall team operation efficiency.
- Strictly implement group financial policy, accounting standard (IFRS & local GAAP) and internal control requirements; identify potential financial risks in ledger accounting process, establish risk prevention mechanism, ensure all GL operations comply with group internal control rules and financial compliance requirements.
- Cross-team & Cross-region Stakeholder Communication
- Cooperate closely with other functions, controllership team, India offshore team and global finance headquarters to align closing requirements, resolve cross-department accounting discrepancies and synchronize global policy updates.
- Act as the key contact window for GL China team, reply to daily business and accounting queries from internal stakeholders timely, escalate critical operational issues to R2R Operation Lead promptly with preliminary problem analysis and solution suggestions.
- Talent Development & Team Capability Building
- Design role-based training plan for GL team members, conduct regular internal training covering new accounting policies, system operation updates, closing key points and error case sharing.
- Identify high-potential employees within the team, build internal talent succession pipeline; assist in new employee onboarding training and mentor arrangement, improve overall professional capability of the GL team.
- Build positive team atmosphere, resolve internal team conflicts, improve team engagement and retention rate.

Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Educational Background & Professional Certificate
- bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Auditing or related majors;
- Holding CPA, ACCA, CMA or other recognized accounting professional certificate is preferred.
- Working Experience
- Minimum 5 years working experience in general ledger accounting field, with solid end-to-end month-end/year-end closing experience;
- Minimum 2-3 years formal team management experience, having managed a team with more than 10 members is priority;
- Working experience in global financial shared service center R2R team is mandatory; familiar with APAC regional accounting business is a plus.
- Professional Skill Requirements
- Solid professional accounting knowledge: proficient in IFRS and local GAAP for APAC countries, familiar with full set of GL accounting processes and period-end closing logic.
- System capability: proficient in ERP System; familiar with other financial systems (PS ARCS, Pax etc.) used in shared center is preferred.
- Data & report capability: able to independently analyze financial data, prepare closing management reports, summarize team operational performance and provide data-driven improvement suggestions.
- Language capability: fluent oral and written English, can communicate smoothly with global stakeholders and India offshore team via email/meeting; daily working documentation is fully in English.
- Soft Skills & Competency
- Strong end-to-end project management capability, able to control period-end closing progress efficiently under high pressure of month/quarter/year end.
- Excellent manpower management, communication and coordination skills, able to manage large team stably and coordinate cross-regional teams efficiently.
- Strong risk awareness, problem-solving ability and logical thinking; can quickly locate operational errors and put forward targeted rectification plans.
- Highly responsible, good resistance to financial closing peak pressure, strong execution and team leadership.
