As our Boarding Manager, you’ll oversee the daily operations of our boarding department, guide and develop a dedicated team, and help ensure every pet receives safe, consistent, and personalized care throughout their stay.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll spend time supporting the team on the floor, coordinating daily care, communicating with pet parents, managing schedules, and making thoughtful decisions when plans change or concerns arise.
The work can be busy and unpredictable, but it is also incredibly rewarding. You’ll build relationships with pets, clients, and employees while helping create an environment where everyone feels cared for, supported, and confident.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading Daily Boarding Operations
Overseeing the flow of the boarding department with the help of the leadership team and ensuring feeding, medications, potty breaks, walks, playgroups, enrichment activities, cleaning, and overall care are completed accurately, thoroughly, and on time.
- Supporting Facility Care
Maintaining high standards for cleanliness, organization, safety, supplies, and overall readiness throughout the boarding facility.
- Improving Systems and Procedures
Identifying opportunities to make daily operations safer, clearer, and more efficient while keeping pets and employees at the center of each decision.
- Scheduling and Staffing
Helping create and adjust employee schedules based on reservations, occupancy, team availability, and the level of care needed each day.
- Communicating With Pet Parents
Providing clear, thoughtful updates, answering questions, addressing concerns professionally, and helping clients feel confident that their pets are safe and well cared for.
- Supporting and Developing the Team
Training new employees, coaching team members, providing clear expectations and feedback, recognizing strong performance, and helping employees continue to grow in their roles.
- Responding to Concerns and Emergencies
Remaining calm and organized during medical, behavioral, staffing, or facility concerns and communicating with pet owners, veterinarians, and other leadership when necessary.

- Proactive and Administratively Capable – You take initiative, follow through, solve problems, and confidently use scheduling, reservation, communication, and employee-management systems.
- Physically Capable and Flexible – You can lift up to 50 pounds, remain active throughout the day, work in varying weather, and support a facility operating on weekends and holidays.
Prior animal-care leadership or management experience is strongly preferred. Candidates with substantial experience in team leadership, operations, hospitality, veterinary care, training, or another fast-paced care environment are also encouraged to apply.
Perks & Pay
- Starting Pay: $25 per hour
- Paid Time Off: Managers may accrue up to 72 hours of vacation time and up to 48 hours of personal/sick time annually, in accordance with company policy.
- Floating Holidays: Up to 32 hours of floating holiday time.
- Holiday and Overtime Pay: Time and a half for eligible holiday and overtime hours.
- Employee Pet-Care Discounts: Discounts on daycare, boarding, and grooming services are available after 90 days.
- Bonuses: Available based on performance after 90 days.
- Health Insurance Options: Medical, dental, and vision benefits are available to eligible full-time employees after 90 days.
