About The Role

In your new role you will act as a trusted Health, Safety & Wellbeing partner to the business, delivering expert advice and leadership to build and maintain an industry-leading safety culture. This role will have a focus on warehouse and industrial OH&S, support the creation of safe, healthy work environments while ensuring full compliance with Australian and New Zealand legislative and regulatory frameworks.

Key accountabilities include, but not limited to

  • Provide Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) advice to the business on laws, standards, policies and procedures
  • Support or lead projects to identify hazards and manage risks, and track actions to improve safety
  • Coach staff and deliver training to improve safety knowledge and capability
  • Maintain HSW policies, systems and documentation, and assist with safety communications
  • Support and promote employee wellbeing initiatives and monitor their outcomes
  • Monitor and analyse safety data, prepare reports and audits, and recommend improvements
  • Help develop and maintain HSW improvement and compliance plans, systems and registers
  • Coordinate or participate in safety audits, including contractor and supplier audits
  • Liaise with regulators or external parties when reporting or managing incidents
  • Promote and manage the Employee Assistance and Wellbeing Program
  • Support contractor and supplier safety onboarding and compliance records
  • Lead or assist with incident investigations when required
  • Manage WorkCover claims and Return-to-Work plans
  • Provide administrative support to the OHS Committee, Emergency Management Teams and other safety groups
  • Support People and Culture administrative and record-keeping tasks
  • Assist with facility issues or disaster recovery responses when needed
  • Perform other duties within skills and experience as required

Requirements

Your resume would likely include

Tertiary qualification OHS/WHS or related discipline (i.e., environment, safety engineering)

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 - desirable)

Certified OHS Practitioner (preferred)

Significant experience in handling Return-to-Work processes (preferred)

Significant experience in a similar OHS/ WHS Advisor role with exposure to all aspects of OHS practice, preferably with exposure to warehousing, distribution and industrial industries

Experience in the development and implementation of programs to support and maintain HSW cultures

Applied knowledge of OHS and WHS relevant legislation and regulation across Australian and New Zealand jurisdictions

Well-developed general administration and records management skill

Hand on experience in coaching and the development and delivery of training programs

Highly developed internal consulting and relationship management skill

Highly developed communication, negotiation and influencing skills

Proven data analysis and reporting capability

Attention to detail

Well-developed organisational and prioritisation skills, ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

Intermediate computing skills, including competence in Google Suite/ MS Office
