About The Role

Help Build Affordable Housing Across Oregon

Neighborhood Building Corporation (NBC) is a nonprofit general contractor specializing in the construction and rehabilitation of affordable housing throughout Oregon.

We're looking for a Finance & Admin Specialist to help keep our construction projects organized, on budget, and moving forward.

In this role, you'll manage invoices and project expenses, track financial commitments, maintain project and vendor records, and provide essential administrative support to our construction team.

What You'll Do

  • Review and process invoices from subcontractors and vendors.
  • Verify invoices against contracts, purchase orders, and project requirements.
  • Code and enter expenses into accounting and financial systems.
  • Track accounts payable, receivables, project expenses, and budget commitments.
  • Prepare monthly invoices and project payment documentation.
  • Maintain vendor, subcontractor, and project files.
  • Track subcontractor compliance, including insurance, licensing, and certifications.
  • Process and track work orders, purchase orders, and change orders.
  • Coordinate project-related permits, inspections, utility incentives, and insurance documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and organized project records across multiple construction projects.
  • Provide general financial and administrative support to the NBC construction team.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing financial and administrative processes.

Required

  • 2+ years of experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative support.
  • Experience with accounts payable, invoicing, expense tracking, or similar financial processes.
  • Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently while collaborating with a team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company auto insurance requirements.

Preferred

  • Associate degree or coursework in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience in construction, project management, or affordable housing.
  • Experience working with financial, accounting, or project management software.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills.

Hybrid Work: This position has a hybrid work arrangement, requiring the ability to work remotely from home and work in person at our Springfield, Oregon office on a weekly basis.
