About The Role
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior AML Analyst to support our growing operations in Brazil. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining our AML/CFT framework by conducting transaction monitoring, performing customer due diligence, and assisting with risk assessments.
This is a hybrid position based at our São Paulo office near Avenida Paulista, ideal for an early-career compliance professional—preferably with a background in banking or financial services—looking to expand their expertise in financial crime prevention within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring & Alerts: Review daily transactional alerts to flag unusual activity, potential money laundering, or terrorist financing risks.
- Investigations & Escalations: Run initial reviews on flagged accounts, document your findings, and draft clear summaries to close alerts or escalate suspicious cases to senior analysts.
- CDD & PEP Reviews: Perform basic Customer Due Diligence (CDD), screening high-risk profiles, PEPs, and sanctions lists, preparing clear summary files for senior sign-off.
- Documentation & Audit Prep: Help collect case files, data samples, and audit trail documents when internal or external reviews come up.
- Tracking & Metrics: Keep track of daily case counts, alert turnarounds, and escalation numbers to feed into monthly management reports.
- Cross-Team Support: Reach out to operations, support, and account teams to gather missing KYC information or clarify customer activity.
- Stay Updated: Keep track of changes in Brazilian financial crime regulations and emerging criminal trends.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 1–2 years of experience in AML, KYC, Sanctions, or Fraud Analysis (prior experience in a bank, fintech, or financial institution is strongly preferred).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (Graduação) in Law, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- Languages: Fluency in Portuguese and Advanced/Business English (written and verbal) required for international stakeholder reporting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel/spreadsheets and familiarity with AML monitoring software or case management tools.
Nice-to-Haves but not Required
- Professional AML certifications such as CAMS, ICA, or local Brazilian compliance credentials.
- Familiarity with Bacen (Central Bank of Brazil) or Coaf regulations and reporting standards.
- Prior experience or interest in the online gaming, payments, or fintech sectors in Brazil.
What We Offer / Work Setup
- Location: Modern office located near Avenida Paulista, São Paulo.
- Schedule: Hybrid working model — 4 days onsite per week, 1 day remote.
- Collaborative culture with structured mentorship and opportunities for career growth in Anti-Financial Crime.
