We’re seeking a friendly, organized Medical Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator to be a key part of the patient journey. You’ll be the first point of contact for patients—helping schedule appointments, update records, answer questions, and support providers—ensuring a seamless, supportive experience for every patient.
Roles & Responsibilities
Patient Support & Scheduling
- Greet patients and manage check-in/check-out with warmth and professionalism
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments to maintain smooth clinic flow
- Verify insurance, explain financial responsibilities, and collect co-pays/deductibles
- Answer and triage incoming calls; respond to patient inquiries
- Obtain vitals and lab specimens as required
- Assist with prior authorizations, referrals, and prescription requests
Administrative Duties
- Maintain and update patient records in compliance with HIPAA and clinic policies
- Process paperwork, letters, forms, and medical documentation
- Collaborate with providers, billing, and clinic staff to support operational efficiency
Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure patient information is accurate and current
- Keep work and reception areas clean, organized, and patient-ready
- Educate patients on clinic policies and next steps
- Coordinate across the care team to close the loop on patient needs
- Other duties as assigned by leadership; regular attendance is an essential function

Requirements
Qualification and Education
Required
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Customer service experience (any industry), Excellent organizational skills, and ability to treat people in a non-judgmental manner exuding kindness and friendliness.
Preferred
- 12+ months of medical office experience.
- Experience with EMR systems, medical terminology, and health care procedures.
- Completion of a medical assistance program from an accredited institution.

- Dependable, professional, empathetic, and genuinely wanting to help people in a caring way.
- Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Mobility: Must be able to sit for extended periods (50% of the time) and move around the clinic to access files, equipment, and assist patients.
- Dexterity & Strength: Requires frequent computer use, handling paperwork, and occasional stooping or kneeling. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Communication & Vision: Must communicate clearly in person, by phone, and electronically. Requires close visual attention to details.
- Work Environment: Indoor medical setting with exposure to biological fluids and bloodborne pathogens.
