About the Role

Pro AV Solutions Queensland is seeking an experienced Lead Audio Visual Installation Technician to join our high-performing Deployment Team. This role offers the opportunity to combine your technical expertise with strong leadership capabilities, taking ownership of the successful delivery of complex audiovisual installations across a diverse range of commercial projects.

As a Team Leader, you will lead from the front—remaining actively involved in the installation and commissioning process while providing direction, mentoring, and support to installation technicians on site. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards, while fostering a positive and productive team culture.

Key Responsibilities

Site Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, coordinate, and mentor installation technicians across multiple project sites.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
• Allocate tasks effectively and monitor site productivity to ensure project milestones are achieved.

AV Installation & Technical Delivery

• Perform hands-on installation of integrated audiovisual systems across commercial environments.
• Interpret technical documentation, installation drawings, and system schematics.
• Ensure installations comply with industry standards, project specifications, and company quality requirements.

Project Coordination & Client Engagement

• Work closely with Project Managers, clients, contractors and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within scope.

About You

You are an experienced AV professional with proven leadership capability and a passion for delivering quality project outcomes. You are equally comfortable leading a team as you are working hands-on with tools and equipment on site.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated experience leading audiovisual installation projects in commercial environments with a customer-focused approach.
• Strong understanding of structured cabling, installation best practices, and AV system integration.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

Desirable Experience

• Experience with AV control platforms such as AMX, Crestron, Extron or Cisco.
• Previous experience mentoring apprentices or junior technicians.
• Exposure to commissioning and system testing processes.

Licences & Certifications

The successful candidate will ideally hold

• ACMA Open Cabling Licence (with Structured Cabling Endorsement)
• Queensland Construction White Card
• Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Licence/Yellow Card
• Current Australian Driver's Licence (Manual Preferred)
