Job Locations: The position requires travel to various locations in the Edmonton region (AB). The employer provides transportation when the job site is outside of the City of Edmonton.

Wage: $35.00 to $45.00 / hour (based on experience; salary increases as per Company policy); performance bonus per company policy.

Duties

The Excavator Operator reports to the Foreman and will be responsible for preparing the ground for pipeline installation as required.

Operate heavy equipment (excavator/hoe), including Hydraulic Excavator,
Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks,
Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment,
Secure special attachments to equipment,
Perform minor repairs to equipment,
Ensure the trench is excavated to the specific depth/grade,
Place water, storm, and sanitary sewer pipe in the excavation,
Observe the condition of the equipment and materials used to ensure it meets the company’s standards,
Report any possible problems or defects,
Ensure all work is conducted in a safe and responsible manner,
Follow directions of the ground crew regarding craning, gravel placement, and grading,
Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment,
Prepare accident reports,
Know, understand, and ensure compliance with safety regulations,
Ensure compliance with current ground disturbance regulations,
Know and follow the company’s rules, policies, and procedures.
