Job Description
- Delivers patient-centered nursing care using principles to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction.
- Establishes a compassionate environment by providing physical, emotional, and spiritual support to patients and their families.
- Provides quality care by adhering to Standards of Practice and measuring health outcomes against patient-centered goals.
- Utilizes multidisciplinary team strategies to achieve quality outcomes.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with policies and procedures and calling for assistance from healthcare support personnel when needed.
- Protects patients and team members by adhering to infection control policies and protocols.
- Maintains continuity among nursing teams by communicating and documenting actions, irregularities, and patients’ continuing needs.
- Adheres to regulatory standards for care of patients.
- Administers and stores medications safely according to policy and procedures.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and protects their health information.
- Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare teams by effectively communicating information, responding to requests, building rapport, and participating in team problem-solving methods.
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of current standards of care.
- Advocates for patients and promotes healthy teamwork with the multidisciplinary team. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Display proficient clinical critical care skills and critical thinking skills with strong communication skills
- Commitment to hourly patient rounding
- Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures
- Knowledge of all anatomy, including cardiac and circulatory neuro systems
- Understanding of hemodynamic monitoring and EKG rhythm recognition, with competency in EKG interpretation [Preferred]
- Experience in documenting and reporting all procedures in accordance with department policies
- Competency in moderate sedation and excellent assessment skills
- Ability to assist in training new employees and enhancing patient flow through areas
- Frequent use of independent judgment in clinical situations requiring sound professional judgment and critical-thinking skills, including clinical assessment, data, and patient response
- Responsibility for providing quality patient care and the ability to prioritize multiple duties continuously
- Capability to function calmly and professionally in stressful situations
- Utilization of assessment, reassessment, and critical-thinking skills in dealing with changes in patient outcomes
- General knowledge of professional nursing principles and techniques, including the pharmacological process in the appropriate administration or delivery of medications
- Skill to maintain effective working relationships with health professionals and others to create an environment conducive to carrying out the mission of the facility
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) to direct overall professional nursing services, encouraging the open exchange of ideas and information
- Previous experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Record [Preferred]
Education
- Associate's of Nursing [Required]
- Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
Work Experience
- 2+ acute care experience
- 6 mo plus of OR RN experience
Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]

Pay Range
- $35.39 - $65.82
