About The Role

Perform maintenance, repair, welding, and fabrication on railcars while meeting safety and quality standards.
Prepare and inspect work vehicles, tools, equipment, and materials before and after job assignments.
Participate in job briefings and actively promote a strong safety culture.
Work collaboratively with team members to complete projects safely and efficiently.
Maintain professional relationships with customers and coworkers.
Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Clean, restock, and organize equipment, vehicles, and job sites.
Follow all required policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

AWS welding certification required.
Technical expertise in welding and fabrication .
Knowledge of freight car components .
Knowledge of the AAR Field Manual .
Knowledge of railroad industry safety regulations, including Blue Flag Law and FRA standards .
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to follow safety policies and maintain a professional work ethic.
Ability to read, write, and speak English .
Valid driver's license required.
Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications, including:
CPR
First Aid
E-Rail Safe
CSX On-Track Safety

24/7 emergency response role with on-call availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Frequent travel and changing work assignments.
Outdoor work in all weather conditions .
Physically demanding work requiring standing, walking on uneven surfaces, bending, lifting, and carrying.
Regularly lift up to 50 lbs. ; heavier loads require assistance.
Extended work hours may be required based on operational needs.
