Supervisor – Track

About The Role
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and assign daily work to field crews supporting track maintenance, repair, construction, and related railroad operations.
- Lead daily safety briefings and enforce PPE, FRA, DOT, and company safety standards .
- Oversee project execution, including hands-on field work and heavy equipment operation.
- Coordinate crews, equipment, labor, and logistics to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.
- Support derailment response, load adjustment/transfer, railcar repair, and other railroad field operations as needed.
- Maintain effective communication with customers, field personnel, and regulatory agencies.
- Monitor project progress and address operational issues or safety concerns.
- Submit accurate payroll, equipment usage, and project reports.
- Train, coach, and evaluate team members.
- Prepare job quotes covering labor, equipment, and logistics .
- Monitor equipment condition and ensure equipment remains operational and ready for field assignments.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all work is performed according to applicable regulations and project requirements.
Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of railroad industry experience.
- Knowledge of DOT, FRA, and applicable railroad safety regulations .
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting systems .
- Valid driver's license; CDL Class A or B preferred .
- Experience operating heavy equipment, including cranes, excavators, and similar equipment .
- Ability to read and interpret load charts .
- Understanding of rigging practices and requirements .
- Ability to lead field crews and make sound decisions in fast-paced and changing work environments.
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions .
- Frequent travel with overnight stays.
- Physically demanding work involving lifting, walking on uneven terrain, and extended periods on your feet.
- Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, as operational needs require.
- Comfortable working in active railroad and construction environments.
